Welcome to Puglia!

Meet your driver in the arrivals hall in Bari and continue on to Gallipoli. Along the way, stop in Alberobello for lunch and a guided visit.

Today you will arrive in Alberobello, where you will meet your guide.

Alberobello’s main tourist attraction is its trulli, magical houses that, with this guide, you will also be able to step inside.

On this guided visit to Alberobello, you will uncover the hidden curiosities of the famous town of the trulli, unique rural dwellings built with dry-stone walls and topped with a conical dome. You will get up close with the Aia Piccola district and the Church of Sant’Antonio.

After the guided visit, lunch in Alberobello.

Afterward, you will continue on to your hotel.

Check-in.

Dinner at a restaurant a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

Overnight at a hotel in Gallipoli.

Meet your driver in the hotel lobby and head toward Matera.

Meet your guide in Matera.

The first stop of the tour will be in front of the Church of San Francesco, located on the street of the same name. Behind its late-Baroque façade, the temple conceals a far older treasure: a fresco depicting the visit of Pope Urban II to Matera in 1093, preserved in the ancient crypt of Saints Peter and Paul. Next, you will walk to the 13th-century Matera Cathedral, which we will admire from the outside. Built in the Apulian Romanesque style, it stands in Civita, the district that, together with Sasso Caveoso and Sasso Barisano, forms the historic centre of the city. These districts, with their characteristic houses carved into the rock and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, represent one of the earliest human settlements on the Italian peninsula!

Wandering through the characteristic winding lanes of the centre, we will see the Rock Church of Sant’Antonio Abate and also visit one of Matera’s many stone houses, discovering the origins of the rupestrian architecture that distinguishes this Lucanian city. Next, we will continue along Via Madonna delle Virtù until we reach the Church of San Pietro Caveoso, where we will learn its fascinating history. The temple also surprises with its spectacular location: perched on the edge of a cliff and nestled against a rock face, the church appears to be woven into the landscape itself!

Next, Ginosa (in the province of Taranto).

Today, you will stop at a winery in the heart of the Murgia region, where you will taste three wines and have lunch.

After lunch, your journey continues with a scenic mini-cruise through the City of the Two Seas. You will set off from the stone bridge to explore the famous freshwater areas of the Mar Piccolo, and then pass beneath the Swing Bridge of the Mar Grande.

At the end of the experience, return to the hotel.

Overnight in Gallipoli.

Meet your driver in the hotel lobby for a cooking class at a masseria in Manduria, birthplace of Primitivo wine.

During the class, you will discover the secrets of preparing Puglia’s famous orecchiette. After the class, you will head to the masseria’s garden for lunch accompanied by a tasting of Primitivo di Manduria.

At the end of the experience, return to the hotel.

In the late afternoon, meet your driver in the hotel lobby and continue on to a seaside restaurant in Porto Cesareo for a gala dinner.

After dinner, return to the hotel.

Overnight at a hotel in Gallipoli.

Meet your driver in the hotel lobby for the transfer to Bari Airport.
